The "Rotary-Transalp" is an international charity-project of the German Rotary Club Villingen-Schwenningen Mitte.
The first Transalp Tour was kicked off in 2012 in Villingen and led us via the Albula-Pass, Lenzerheide and Bernina to Bergamo - right on the Piazza
Vecchia - in the heart of the old town to our Contact-Club Bergamo Citta Alta.
In 2014 we started the 2nd edition of the Tour, heading north via the old Postroad in Val Tremola - passing the Gotthard, via Furka- and Grimsel-Pass and further on along the Sarn-Lakes into Lower Switzerland. During further Stopps in Luzern, Zug and Zurich we promoted the family-based rehabilitation concept of the Katharinenhöhe. This Rehabilitation clinic gave us a tremendous "Finisher-Party" in return to a 30.000€ cheque; Money collected from Sponsors and donators along the Tour in 4 Nations for families with children who actually survived Cancer.
On June 11th we will start the 3rd Rotary-Transalp at Lake Garda; again including a number of highlights. The Finisher-Party will be on June 17th on arrival in Villingen.
We will be happy to wellcome several Rotary-Clubs which will Support the Tour when we will be passing their "Rotarian Territory".
You will find the "Call-for-Entries" including all Tour-Information in the download-section.
Registration for the 2017 Rotary-Transalp is open until march 15th !
Participation is open for Rotarian fellows as well as for their cycling "buddies".
You are wellcome!
